How a Bill Becomes a Law / Process Poster
The topic chosen for this project was “How a Bill Becomes a Law.” The intended purpose was to take an existing process and simplify it making it more interesting and easier to understand. The circle, a primary symbol is a symbol of time in a never-ending process. Beginning as the populous identifying a problem, the issue turns into an idea or a solution. Those ideas heard by the congressmen begin to take shape as bills. Traveling full-circle, after bills are made into laws they affect the populous with the initial problem, thus making the shape of a circle a natural fit. As seen in the diagram those with the most power to affect the probability of a bill becoming a law, are naturally placed closer to the center. The lines crossing the center of the diagram link common interests between the Senate and House committees. The goal of this project was to encourage people to take interest in their body of government and to gain a better understanding of this simple system of legislature.
